Instagram has cracked down on fake accounts and spam pages, deleting millions of accounts.
As the social network has wiped out accounts, many users have seen their number of followers plummet, including rapper Mase.
The Harlem rapper saw his number of followers fall from 1.6 million followers to 272,000 followers.
After seeing all his fake followers disappear, the rapper quickly deleted his Instagram account.
Instagram detailed their plan to delete spam accounts in press release and warned users who had fake followers that their followers would be deleted.
"We're committed to doing everything possible to keep Instagram free from the fake and spammy accounts that plague much of the web, and that's why we're finishing up some important work that began earlier this year," read Instagram's press release.
"As part of this effort, we will be deleting these accounts forever, so they will no longer be included in follower counts. This means that some of you will see a change in your follower count."
"Most of you won't see any impact. If you're one of those who will see a correction, you will receive a notification in the app directing you to additional information."
